Taking a break from Insurance for the day, I’m incredibly excited to see the Miami Dolphins play the New Orleans Saints tonight in week four of the NFL preseason. Being an avid Dolphins fan, I will be pleasantly surprised if they pull out a win tonight against the Saints, but if not, at least our rookies, second and third string are getting more experience on the field.
In lieu of this exciting day, I’ve highlighted the top three things to look out for during the game tonight.
- Will Ryan Tannehill’s efficiency continue to thrive? Ryan Tannehill showed tremendous promise during his rookie season last year leading the Miami Dolphins to a 7-9 win loss record—not terrible for a rookie going into one of the worst teams in the NFL. With that in mind, coaches we’re looking for Tannehill to hit a number of milestones in the training camp and preseason.
Tannehill is currently completing almost 61% of his passes and has only been sacked a total of 4 times despite questionable protection from his offensive line. He’s had three touchdowns so far in the preseason and he’s boasting an impressive 98.6 passer rating so far.
- Who will be the Miami Dolphins starting tailback? Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas are both in the running for this starting position, but I’m curious to see who will take it to the hole in tonight’s game.
Miller was a hopeful out of University of Miami, but set himself back last week against the Buccs, dropping the ball and gaining just 3 yards on 7 carriers. Miller’s typical average is 4.2 yards per attempt, but will that be enough to catch the coaches eyes tonight when starting spots are technically confirmed.
- Will Charles Clay have what it takes to be our starting Tight End? We know that the New Orleans Saints have the leagues best quarterback and one of the most sought after tight end’s in fantasy, and I was extremely upset finding out that our sought after tight end Dustin Keller will be out for the season due to a major knee injury. Will Clay have what it takes to stay in the game? Tonight will be a decent indication.
The Miami Dolphins have their evening cut out for them against the New Orleans Saints in Miami at 7:30. We’ll be out representing North Broward Insurance Solutions and our Fins Fandom in Full Force!
